Well, I've got kind of a weird setup, but it now works perfectly with 2.2.

I have:
-internal 68pin cable to an internal UW drive, presumably terminated
by the internal drive
-internal 50-pin cable connected to one of those PC-slot blanks with
a 50-pin centronics connector(but the connector was too fat for the
spaces for the PCI slots, so it's dangling in the breeze) connected
to a DAT drive with an external active terminator
-external 68 pin cable to two UW devices, terminated with an external
active terminator

I've got to be damn close to the limit for UW's cable length; I know
there is 2 feet of connecting cable for the external 68pin drives; no
idea how long in the internal cable is, probably a foot...plus change
for the small cables inside the cases...isn't the limit 3 feet?

Anyway....I've got autotermination on(if somone tells me exactly how
you get into the card's BIOS during the alpha setup, I'd love to
know, since the card's BIOS isn't "run" where it can display a
message and trap the key sequence; I've tried at all stages from a
cold power-on.)

and the most amazing part is...it all works :-)

Brett
(BTW, what -would- be the proper on-card termination for this setup?
Not much turned on, right?) I'll have to check out the Adaptec
manual again...
