I found Version 4.58 of ARC firmware for selected Alpha platforms at:

    ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/Digital/Alpha/firmware/interim

This should fix the problem with correcting the date when the date is
wrong (after typical Red Hat installation).

CAVEAT: I haven't tried any of these images yet. They are released,
thus they have been tested and found to function correctly with VMS,
UNIX and NT, but there is always a possibility that they may have
undesired side effects for Linux. Have a 4.57 "downgrade" disk handy
if you're nervous!
