Yup, a KVM-switch.

What do you mean by "dies"?
One normal-kbd I had exhibited completely random behavior
when plugged into an LX164 with the rh5.2-milo. This was fixed
by dropping a newer (essentially a bugfix) MILO onto the box.
(check alphalinux.org for details)
Maybe your Cybex unit is sending some keysym or modifier that
milo is checking for... I've seen auto-kvm's (at work) act odd,
sometimes failing to register key-releases, etc.
On another topic, why are you using a kvm-switch with Alphas?
I thought their only reason for existance was for
architectures whose bioses aren't serial-port capable.
