Oleg, Paul, et al...
The point of my question was not to address the underlying tech involved in
anyone's "mail on alpha linux" solution, but more of an interest in product
solutions. Most of the mail packages on other platforms use modified
sendmail, smail, qmail, etc. I wasn't interested in that level of the
solution, although many people are not using any more than that.
What I was curious about was what sort of "complete" solutions were
available (if any) that provided not only smtp, pop3, and imap, but also
web admin and client access to mail.
Both post.office and Cgate have these features (web client is weak on both
though), and I've used them on other platforms. If I am going to make a
case to my management to use linux on alpha for any significant production
use, I need to have a decent, commercial mail solution.
cheers
