Tripwire on the Alpha (and insmod)

I downloaded tripwire and have been trying to build it on the Alpha. It
builds fine on an Intel Linux machine, but when building it on my Alpha I
get a mysterious linker error (note that it compiles okay, but won't link):

utils.o: In function `pltob64':
utils.c(.text+0xb08): undefined reference to `fatal'
utils.c(.text+0xb0c): undefined reference to `fatal'
../sigs/snefru/snefru.o: In function `ReadChunk':
snefru.c(.text+0x194): undefined reference to `fatal'
snefru.c(.text+0x198): undefined reference to `fatal'
make[1]: *** [tripwire] Error 1

I looked through snefru.c for a reference to "fatal" but found none. So the
only thing I can conclude is that things are so screwed up it doesn't even
know what the undefined reference is. :) In any event, if anyone can help
me out here, I would surely appreciate it.

Another question about modules: I've installed the modules-2.0.0-5 package,
but it doesn't seem to contain the insmod, lsmod, rmmod utils that I
expected. Where can I find these? Do I have to build them from source? If
so, where is the source?

Thanks,
Jason Tackaberry,
