WWW browser

All people interested in a native web browser for Alpha should check,
fast, this:

http://www.operasoftware.com/alt_os.html

This is a commercial company with a browser which looks quite interesting;
currently only for '95. They collect right now $35 (US) pledges toward
a development on other platforms. If they will have enough of these
they promise to deliver a browser for such OS. One of categories is a
"general X11" - which covers mostly Linux. As this means to be general
then one could possibly talk them into providing Linux/Alpha binaries.
Check details yourself. No money required until they start a real
development; only e-mail at the moment.

They apparently started to collect these pledges in the middle of October.
It had to be a closely guarded secret as I heard about only yesterday
and had a chance to look at their web site the last night. The pledge
collection ends Sunday, Nov 30th, so if you are interested and want to
convince them that you want a $35 native web browser on Linux/Alpha you
better hurry.

I imagine that this would require giving them an access to an account
on Alpha for a compilation. Likely they will not have one on their own.
