The EIA-232 specification does not provide secondary versions of all of the
signals. I don't remember at the moment exactly which ones were missing, but
I suspect that RI (Ring Indicator) was one of them.
I don't know whether the UDB's pin assignments for those signals are
arbitrary, or whether they match what Sun uses.
