I have a UDB (VX42) with the internal 2.5" disk and am, like many, not too
happy with the disk's performance. I looked up the specs on this disk in the
Pocket PCRef, 5th Edition and it ain't too shabby, not great, but not terrible
either:
4200 rpm, 13 ms access SCSI-II
I've owned several laptop / notebook computers in the past and many of them
have their internal disks set up to spool down after a short period of
activity, usually for purposes of power conservation.
The disk in this unit _sounds_ like it's powering up and down in this power
saving cycle. Is it possible that Digital shipped the unit this way, possibly
for purposes of HEAT conservation?

Any Digits out there with the answers?
