In particular, this would probably be the DEC compilers. And I think
Bob has a very good point here --- apart from those who run linux/AXP
because of the cool-factor, there is certainly a signioficant proportion
who run it for the sheer speed it can provide. And those people are
almost certainly willing to pay DEC some money for a well optimizing compiler,
just so they get even more speed from their machine. I would be one of
them.

Of course, it would be even nicer if DEC's hardware department realized that
they are now selling machines to people using gcc, and made an effort
to improve the ALPHA optimizations in gcc, thus increasing sales --- but
being able to buy DEC's cc for linux would be the next best thing ;-)
