UDB, RH4: Slow/Hang Boot

I have successfully installed RH4 on my new UDB 166. However,
when I turn on the networking and boot up, the boot process
hangs at:

INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
eth0: media is TP

After about 10 minutes, the boot process continues. Has anyone
else experienced this? I think one of the network applications
is stalling and timing out, but cant check anything because
i cant get a prompt.

I can ping the machine successfully.

any suggestions?
