Re: RHL 4.0: where's genksyms?

When I tried to compile a new kernel, it complained that it couldn't
find /sbin/genksyms.
Where can I get it?

i just compiled modules-2.0.0 to get genksyms.

however, i'm having trouble getting module support to work in linux
2.0.18 on a udb (the ELF redhat 4.0). i can get kerneld to compile if i
remove the bogus syscall prototypes, and i can get depmod to work if i
use -DUSE_BFD. when i compile the kernel modules though, i get
variables/functions with signatures associated with them. i.e, instead of
looking for "jiffies," a module will look for "jiffies_<some
combination of characters>."

as i'm not sure why these signatures are being added by the compiler,
does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?
