Things here are getting more bizarre by the minute. While writing my previous
mail, I (of course) let the ALPHA sit in the hung state for a while,
so I could copy down the output. And lo and behold --- it booted the next
time!
So I went ahead, compiled a kernel with network support, and had it sit
idle for a while; It wouldn't boot after that.
So, I let it sit hanging for a while --- and up it came again.
I am really really confused....
