Never did work out what why, but I was getting this twice a minute with the 1.3.90 kernel
that shipped with 3.0.3, but as soon as I changed to a 2.0.16 kernel it went and I haven't
noticed it since.

Subject: Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=312)
Hello All
Could someone please tell me about this error:
Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=312)
It has gone from an intermittent occurrence to a regular event...
I used to get this error after booting, it would show up at the 'login:'
prompt and then occasionally while doing ethernet operations like ftp or ping...
Now.. it shows up at system boot up after 'sendmail' starts, then the boot
hangs for about 4 minutes, then it occurs again after 'httpd' starts and
again the boot hangs there about 4 minutes...
Then when I execute 'pppd' same thing, the systems hangs for a few minutes
then executes the command...
Other than the exec. and boot delays I am not having any problems as far as
I can tell... but the severity seems to be getting worse in terms of event
frequency and duration...
What is this?
What should I read?
What should I do about it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ...David
