Basically in internet terms I'm in the middle of nowhere, it is vaguely
possible for me to read news by telnetting to another machine, but exmh for me
is easily fast enough for me to keep up with the amount of mail I get from
various lists.
It's hardly fair to take away my only real source of alerts and info, all my
news access is via mailing lists, for example rec.games.corewar and the
corewar mailing list are identical, the mailing list gets posted to the group
and anything posted to the group appears on the list.
Now if someone was to set up a similar gateway then I could support the
formation of a newsgroup, but for purely selfish reasons I don't want a group
that I can only read by telnettting to 3 different machines. I like the news
delivered to my mailbox.
