OK, well, I recently updated the MILO HOWTO - so are you saying that you
read it and couldn't figure out what to do?
MILO _must_ build against a built alpha linux kernel. It assumes that the
kernel tree is in /usr/src/linux but you can pass the real tree name by adding
the KSRC onto the end of the make command, eg
$ make KSRC=/usr/src/bizarre/place/to/put/a/kernel/tree

No, and maybe I ought to do something a little different to /images and /test-images.
Maybe have v2.0 and v2.1 and put them under version numbers, eg v2.0/2.0.26...
