Progress on RedHat 4.0/axp+UDB+PCMCIA?

Has there been any progress on being able to get PCMCIA working with RH4.0?
As I remember it was tied up in the libc-2-glibc transition (amongst other
things). (The modem I was using for my UDB is a PCMCIA one borrowed from my
laptop...:(

If anybody needs a tester for such things, I'm fairly adept at following
directions and ferreting out possible trouble spots (not so good at fixing
them, however). Would like to do more for "free" software, i.e. Linux etal,
but am not very proficient in C. (Fortran, yes, Basic, yes, Airplane Design,
yes, C no).
