depmod problem with RH 4.0

It seems that upon installing RH 4.0 I'm having a problem running the
depmod program from the rc script. I don't seem to have this
package/program and it's giving me an error message when I boot.

Is there a fix for this? If this has anything to do with module support
in the kernel, I'll be in trouble because I NEVER build in loadable
module support when I upgrade kernels.
