R.E: trying to Install RedHat4.0 off cdrom on an Alpha AXP
150.
If I try to boot from cdrom (which is dka400) It checks the cdrom and
it flickers for a while and then I get 84 FAIL.
This 1MB Flash contains VERSION 1.0 DEC 2000 Model 300 AXP console
code. Rom version 23d -- any of that help
If I do the Jensen how-to way;
Using the vmlinux.gz image and a ramdisk (no psuedo) I do a boot
-fl "i" dka0 and make it to the aboot prompt. I do a 0/a
root=/dev/fd0 load_ramdisk=1 and It boots up and I get the menu.
I sleect install, I select sda, It says I have not partitioned
swap ( I dont know how to do that, advanced setting required) but
I can still continue. I select local-cdrom, it flashes a bit and
then say header file not found. Thats it. If I try ftp or NFS I
get cannot find /bin/?lmod? ? .
Using jensen.gz image and ramdisk I do a boot -fl "i" dka0 and
make it to the bootprompt (aboot), same as above and It hangs.
I have ECU version v1.0 Jensen and ECU version V1.9 DEC Alpha ( I
alternate every so often when trying.
