Well, good news and bad... ;-/

The good news is, I have a patch set against the 3.2 release of XFree86 that
seem to mostly work on the Alphas (8, 16, 32-bit depths).

The bad news: the MGA server requires that some *kernel* patches be in place.
I am *extremely* reluctant to put out some kernel patches that a) Linus isn't
crazy about, and thus b) don't have much chance of making their way into the
official sources. So, I am currently working on negotiating the form of the
support the server needs in order for them to be acceptable.

Be patient; this *will* happen...
