Would somebody please point me in the direction of the most recent and up
to date HOWTO for compiling a new kernel (including the procedure and how
to apply the axp-diff patch among others). I am currently running 1.3.89
under RH' 3.0.3, and would like to move up a bit. This includes adding a
few things to the 'stock' kernel that came with 3.0.3 such as printing.
In addition, I would like to know which kernel is generally considered the
current "best" to use. I am running a UDB with 40Mb of RAM and plenty of
disk space.
Also, if someone could shed some light on (or tell me where to find) the
differences between the different kernel numbering 'paths' I would greatly
appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
