'w' woes revisited.

I've found the problem with my idle times not resetting on the Alpha I
have shell accounts running on. It seems the /dev/ttyp? files aren't
getting their timestamps updated. I do not know if this is an
Alpha-specific problem or perhaps something related to libc, but has
anyone mounted their root filesystem via nfs and seen this problem?

I'm beginning to think it's an odd incompatibility issue. The NFS server
runs Solaris 2.5 on a Sparc 20. The client is a UDB running Linux 2.0.21.

Not sure where to turn..
