I have not a lot of expierence with Linux systems and hope somebody can
help me.
My system is a Platform 2000 with SCSI-Disk and CD-Rom.
Redhat is basic installed.
My graphic card is a original ATI Graphics Pro Turbo PCI with 4M memory.
As this card is worling fine with other OS i tried to configure it
manualy as the automatic configuration at autoprobe hangs.
>From the list i take the card with number 11 and do not spec. any Ramdac
or Clockchip. When i start than with startx the screen gets dark and
after some more rumor on the harddisk the system hangs.
When i reboot via reset the System needs to fix the sdaXX devices and
comes up.
A second question:
How can i mount a cd-rom on the system, do i have to create such a device
or only mount.
The cd-rom is known at startup time and the cd_rom is in.
Any help appriciated.
Thanks
