The best way I've found is to get a copy the ALEX ftp filesystem. Alex is
software that will mount ftp sites on to you local directory tree.
Once mounted, you can tar the tree or cp -r or whatever.

You can get a copy from ftp://alex.sp.cs.cmu.edu/src directory.
