* It depends on how many concurrent accesses you get. If it's normally
* accessed just by a few users, 16MB *might* work, but with 32MB you'd
* be safer. I think if you plan on running X11 and your web server, you

Yeah, I thought about bringing up X, but I just can't see using 3/4 my
memory for one
user, on the console. I'll probably split the difference at 24MB, and set
it to cache as cache can. :) This system would go right into production,
so even though X may end up being usable on this screamingly fast computer,
lets give the power to where we make the money, eh?

*
* Again it depends: if you have many concurrent users, a SCSI drive is
* probably better since it takes away load from the CPU. Also, I don't
* think the SRM console can boot from IDE drives. The ARC console might
* be able to, but I don't think Linux can be booted via ARC on a Jensen.

Ah. This is important. OK. We'll go scsi. Lets me use my mac's external CD
anyway. Its a NEC, so it probably works. .. Its supported under
Linux-Intel.

Probably lets me use 8mm drives too, unless some really funky thing in AXP
linux has broken tape support on scsi. Any comments, from the list?

* Can't answer the other questions.

Thanks for your advice.
