What Steve didn't say is that DNS is a standard feature of any Linux
system I have seen. Personally, I use DNS on Linux/Alpha for very
simple things only (give Internet access to machines behind a
firewall), but AFAIK, there are no known bugs with named and there do
seem to be a bunch of people out there doing non-trivial stuff with
it. So before forking off >$400, you might want to consider Linux.
