standard tradeoff: stability vs. working:
DEC Unix is probably a bit more stable; RedHat gets fixed when
something is wrong with it.
personally, i've had good luck w/ RHS AXP product for the type of
servers you're describing. another *big* advantage: you can get
RHS for the 80X86 units connected to the server and run the same
unix product on all your machines. makes solving problems a lot
easier.
cost is another *big* reason to go with RHS: w/ DEC Unix you'll be
spending 10+ time as much for support -- assuming you buy support from
RHS, the mailing lists may prove enough and are free (the best price
of all!).
