Howdy all!

Took the weekend 'off' and upgraded my system...
(Btw, and 'upgrade' script from "beta" to "release would have been nice..)

Here is some stuff I found 'non-optimal'.. (Running with .59/.65/.66)

* The /pub/redhat-2.1/axp/README suggest using the '1443' image for installing,
the problem with this kernel (its the 1.3.43 kernel), is that its missing the
#256 & #257 syscalls so there are tons of 'errormessages' on the console the
whole time.. Using the "1357" image works just fine..

* Tons of bins are not stripped (87 on my system). Using a "script" like
find /bin /sbin /usr/bin /usr/X11/bin | xargs file |grep not |grep stripped
will produce a nice list..

* Several bins have the "wrong" permission.. They are like 775 (root.root),
which isn't a "problem", but I really prefer all the bins to be 755..

* more/ircII still suffers from the termio(s) problem. I made patches for these
2 proggies a long time ago.. I will clean 'em up and send them to this list
in a couple of days.. A "kernel-solution" like some ppl here talked about is
probably a preferd solution though.

* talk(d) only works "internal" on the machine (david mt posted a patch a day
ago)

* rcp is still broken (rcp: protocol screwup: mtime.sec not delimited)

* the (t)csh scripts are still wrong with the stuff depending on $status.

* Wrong permissions on /var/lock/emacs (I think..), shouldn't it be 1777
instead of 0777, so 'other' users can't remove your locks?

* manpage for 'cmp' is missing (even on the i386 version)

* 'joe'/'jmacs' is "broken" (the statusbar at the top is no longer in inverse).
This only happens with term=linux.. setting term=vt100 makes it looks like
normal again. Maybe a kernel related bug?

Thats it!.... Great work Erik & the other guys @redhat..

/Mikael, egerly waiting for RH 2.2
