On that subject, does anyone have any comment about the problem I
identified with gethostbyname() in glibc-1.99? The silence has been
deafening..

I posted a small program that clearly demonstrates the bug. If for some
reason no one has seen this, please yell and I'll repost. If you _have_
seen and think I'm all wet, that's fine too <g>, but I would appreciate
feedback either way - thanks!

P.S. - After gruesome workarounds, I can report reliable operation of my
UDB as an NIS/YP client.
