Ok, then something is definitely broken. If glibc defaults to providing
transparent NIS support, then 'rpcinfo -p localhost' should show it
bound to a set of ports. This does not occur - it simply does not work.

I'll drop a note to the author and let the list know if a resolution is
reached. Thanks much for the pointer!
