I don't think is was a mis-configuration. They all also had a line
cc: gem@lasaltech.com
in the header. Looks to me like someone is purposefully spamming the
list, maybe looking for replies to gather email addresses for another
spam? Of course, this doesn't look like a valid header. I'm not sure
if the first letter is required to be a capital or not.
