I'm trying to install RedHat 4.0 and fdisk requires these to be manually
entered. While initializing, Linux displays "2503872 sectors for SCSI
device sda", but fdisk will not take a number of sectors above 63. (Heads
are limited to 256, and cylinders are limited to 65535.) Quantum's
website was no help, nor was the tech support of APS, where I got the
drive.
If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have this info, which doesn't help me, but it may help you:
>Disk Drive Configuration
>
>Disks 2
>Heads/Recording Surfaces
> 4
>Tracks per Surface
> 4,142
>Sectors per Track
> 95 to 177
>Bytes per Sector
> 512
>Track Density (tpi)
> 4,270
>Flux Density (fci)
> 115,774
>Recording Density (bpi)
> 108,964
>Encoding Method
> 16/17 PRML
Thanks,
Mike
