Active vs Passive SCSI Termination

I've heard talk a while ago on this list about active termination vs
passive termination for a SCSI device. If I understand correctly active
termination is what I should have. In trying to get my CD ROM to work
with the UDB I am wondering if this could be my problem.

My question is how do I tell the difference between active termination
and passive termination. My SCSI terminator looks like just a 50 pin
SCSI plug with no cord. It came with my EZ 135 drive. I assume that
thats passive termination, but thats just my guess. Is active
termination a powered version of this?
