Hi,

I'm replacing some memory in my XL300, one of the 4 SIMM banks, with 4 x
32MB memory, but now I'm getting ECC errors: (dmesg)

CIA machine check: vector=0x630 pc=0x3ff80005dbc code=0x86
machine check type: correctable ECC error (retryable)

(not sure what the last message is)

The memory that was replaced did not have these ECC errors (I don't
recall ever seeing one).

Is there a way to trace to which memory module the problem is occuring
in? I have lots of the above type of errors in /var/log/messages to
analyze.

I'd read that the occasional ECC error is not a problem, but these are
occuring frequently. When running Netscape (OSF version), seti, and
compiling a kernel simultaneously, I'll get about 3-4 ECC errors a
minute, sometimes much higher if the machine is being used heavily.

thanks,
Wes.

P.S. Is the redhat axp-list down for everyone else too?
