I just inherited an AlphaStation 400 4/233 but the
machine was left bare except for the mainboard and cpu
board. I eventually want to get RedHat up and running on
the system but I would like to check if the machine
works first. What is the core hardware required to
fire the machine up? Do I need a special video card
and/or fixed frequency monitor? So far, I have tried
a #9 Imagine 128 card and a NEC Multisync XV17+, but
when I start the machine, I get a green screen and
several of the LEDs on the board light up. Does
anyone know what they mean? Any and all help will be
greatly appreciated.
