I'd guess the Oxygen card isn't supported by XFree86. As for the trident
card not coming up, which version of SRM do you have? I'd say put on V5.8
which is the latest, you can get it from Compaq's website. As for PCI
slots it really shouldn't matter in an LX, there's only 1 PCI bus there,
though trying different slots won't hurt.

There's a SuSE list you may want to join, there's subscription info at
http://www.alphalinux.org/archives. If you don't like SuSE, you don't have
to use it.
