This is such a pain!!!

Thanks, i'm not even that far yet. :-<
The problem is a big tangled Catch-22 problem.
I need to build glibc, gcc, binutils and the kernal
and some parts (A) I have to hack so I can build (B)
so that I can go back and build the unhacked version of (A)
so that I can go back and build the unhacked version of (B)
so that I can then get to the point where I can build the
kernal.
glibc is one of those... and it takes 2 hours to build
on my box. Then it dies - and I find one more hack I have
to put in. AGH!
I can only work for a few hours each evening after my 9yr
old son gets his daily dose of "Need For Speed III"
the latest game he has fallen in love with.
